LibeTech (the "Operator") sets out how it handles Users' information in the smartphone app "Focus Cafe" (the "App") as follows.

1. Information we collect

The App collects the following information.

Sign-in informationThe ID that identifies your Apple or Google account, your email address (if you choose Apple's Hide My Email, the relay address issued by Apple), and your name (if provided by Apple or Google; used as your initial display name)
Guest informationIf you use the App as a guest without signing in, an ID issued by the Operator's servers that identifies you as a guest (we don't collect Apple or Google account information or your email address. If a guest signs in, we collect the sign-in information above)
ProfileDisplay name, avatar appearance, timer settings, whether you appear in the ranking, and your device's time zone (used to decide where each day and week begins in the App, for example for focus records, streaks, and rest tickets)
Usage recordsFocus and break records, daily focus time and number of Pomodoros, streaks, and rest ticket history
RoomsRooms you've joined, seats you took, when you were seated, and the background and music track chosen for each room
ChatMessages you sent in rooms, and read status
Safety informationThe content of reports, users you blocked, when you reported or blocked someone, and when you entered an invite code incorrectly (to check that reports, blocks, and invite code entries stay within limits)
Purchase informationYour FocusCafe Plus subscription status (monthly or yearly plan, period, and whether it auto-renews) and your purchase records in the store (Apple or Google handles payment, and the Operator does not receive credit card numbers or similar information)
Ad reward recordsRewards received for watching ads (rest tickets and the expiry of paid background trials) and when they were received

The App does not collect location, contacts, photos, microphone, or similar information. Notifications are handled only on your device (local notifications), and we do not collect notification tokens or the like. For the information Google collects when you watch ads, see "3. Ads."

The home screen widgets and the iPhone Lock Screen and Dynamic Island display (Live Activities) show information the App has read from the server. This includes today's and this week's focus time, your streak, whether you met your goal on each of the last 7 days, the number of rest tickets, the names of rooms you've joined, the timer status, the time left and end time, and whether music is on or off. This information is stored on your device. No information other than what the App already collects is sent to the Operator for widgets. Android widgets communicate with the server even when the App is closed: when they refresh, when you use a widget button to enter a room, start focusing, pause, resume, or toggle music, and when a finished focus session is recorded. Widgets and the Lock Screen display may be visible to other people who look at your device.

2. Purposes of use

The Operator does not use the information it collects to deliver ads, and does not sell it to third parties.

3. Ads

The App has ads that Users choose to watch (rewarded ads). Ads are shown only when you tap a button because you want a rest ticket or a paid background trial. They are not shown while you focus. Ads are delivered using Google AdMob from Google LLC.

When ads are shown, Google AdMob collects the following information.

Google uses this information to deliver ads, measure their effectiveness, prevent fraud, and so on. It is handled according to Google's Privacy Policy. For details, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

To give rewards correctly, when you watch an ad we pass Google the ID that identifies your account in the App and the type of reward. Google notifies the Operator's server that you watched the ad to the end, and the Operator gives the reward after confirming this.

You can change how your information is used for ads as follows.

4. Information visible to other Users

Members of the same room can see your display name, avatar, the seat you're in, your focus or break status and time left, whether you subscribe to FocusCafe Plus (a badge), and your chat messages. If you appear in the ranking, your display name, avatar, and weekly and monthly focus time are shown there (you can turn this off in Settings in the App).

5. Retention period

6. Service providers that handle information for us

To the extent necessary to provide the App, the Operator entrusts the handling of information to the following companies.

7. Provision to third parties in other countries

Information handled by the US companies above is transferred abroad. The United States has no comprehensive federal law equivalent to Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information, but it has state laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act. Each company has systems in place to handle information appropriately based on its privacy policy and data protection agreements, and the Operator entrusts information to them after confirming this. For information about each country's system, see also the website of Japan's Personal Information Protection Commission.

8. Provision to third parties

The Operator does not provide your information to third parties without your consent, except in the following cases.

9. Security measures

Communications are encrypted, and the information used to keep you signed in is stored encrypted on your device. The database is restricted so that only you and, as needed, certain other Users (such as members of the same room) can read it. The Operator handles information only when necessary, such as when responding to reports or investigating bugs.

10. Account deletion and disclosure requests

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account in the App (guests use Settings → Delete guest data). To ask us to delete it without using the App, see Account and data deletion. When you delete your account, your profile, usage records, the rooms you've joined, the rooms you created, and other data are erased. Chat messages you sent remain as messages from a "Deleted user" until the end of the retention period, to keep conversations readable. Ad reward records and purchase records remain in a form that can't be linked to your account, as described in "5. Retention period." If you signed in with Apple, the link with Apple is also removed.

If you wish to request disclosure, correction, suspension of use, or similar actions regarding your information, please contact us at the address below. We will respond in accordance with the law after confirming your identity.

11. Use by minors

The App includes chat with other Users. Minors should obtain the consent of a parent or guardian before using it.
